NBC – the story of Michael J. Fox who ran across Canada to raise money for cancer research

Mathieu | February 13th, 2010 | 44 Comments »

This is from NBC’s Web site. Yesterday afternoon they were hypothesizing who might light the Olympic torch and the first guess was Betty Fox, the mother of Michael Fox who ran across Canada to raise money for cancer research. They even show a picture of Alex P. Keaton to boot.

Car crashes into house? OH YEAH!

Mathieu | January 23rd, 2010 | 1 Comment »

I found this via Twitter which then lead to a Reddit post and finally, I want to give the OP credit. Elizabeth Dixon maintains a blog What Ever and posted an entry about some public art that sprung up a few hours after a car crashed into a house in Savannah, Georgia.
Best. Post. Ever.

As she writes:

“Someone looked over there and saw not the place of a terrible car accident, but the opportunity to live out a dream.”

“And really, haven’t we all had that dream? To be in a situation where making a sign of the Kool-Aid man breaking through a wall would make sense?

Thank you Elizabeth Dixon for sharing this most awesomest of blog posts.

Mike and Katherine at the Raptors awesome victory

Mathieu | December 28th, 2009 | No Comments »

There is no mistaking a good wife sitting beside her champion of lost causes aka the 2009-2010 Detroit Pistons. I’m pretty sure K-star bought these tickets for Mike, a life-long Detroit Pistons fan. Good on her! For the record, it’s mostly Katherine’s mannerisms that helped me pick them out on the TV. Mike is pretty much robotic so it’s not as easy to spot him :-)

My son was watching this and I found it pretty funny

Joey Graham throws it down vs. Detroit

The Raps lost the game but Joey Graham did get a MASSIVE dunk on Carlos Delfino. He doesn’t have mad hops like Vince Carter but he’s athletic and uses his strength to take it hard to the rim here.

Vanity Plate madness

Mathieu | October 22nd, 2009 | No Comments »
I really like vanity plates because a) you have to have some sort of ego b) you have to be pretty creative. It’s just so over the top. This is one I came across the other day – loved it. I have a friend who’s plate reads “PHATJAM” and another friend who was voted most likely to be the next host of Bumper Stumpers in high school.

Probably unrelated. Anyhow, this guy was driving a 300ZX, so he’s allowed to have an “OFFDHOOK” plate.

Matt Bonner talks about buying a car

Former Toronto Raptor, Matt Bonner, talks with Raptors Television reporter, Norma Wick, about buying his frist car after being traded to San Antonio and finding access to the stadium via public transit to be sub-standard

G-Skinny aka Geoff

Here is our main AV guy at work, Geoff, weary eyed from editing BBQ footage. He’s also tired from the constant jokes doled out all day in the office.

Sometimes I like to change the setting on people’s toasters when I’m in their kitchen.

Mathieu | September 29th, 2009 | No Comments »

I don’t often visit Reddit.com, but I somehow ended up there and I came across this really funny thread. It was titled Sometimes I like to change the setting on people’s toasters when I’m in their kitchen.

Reddit users are a funny bunch because many of the replies illicited LOLs from me, including:

I like putting chicken bullion cubes inside people’s shower heads.

I like to exchange my underwear with a clean pair I find in someone else’s home.

I like to blow out pilot light on people’s ovens

I like to write on their to do lists. If you follow Stephen Wright’s example:

To Do: Buy Milk Pick up Johnny from practice at 5:30 Memorize distances between all of the planetsI like to teach their pets to talk.

I poop in the top part of people’s toilets.

I like to put confetti in peoples toasters. They nice flaming party the next time they want toast.

Do you have any favourite ‘habits’ when visiting a friend’s house?
